Monaco, October 2, 2026. Aere Network today set out, in public and with dates, what it is becoming: not a blockchain with services around it, but cryptographic infrastructure with a public chain as its settlement layer. The direction, published on September 27 at aere.network/vision, describes eight components, settlement, consensus with post-quantum seals, post-quantum transactions and accounts, verifiable execution, proofs and notarization, cryptographic infrastructure for organisations, identity and machine payments, and verification for everyone, and holds each one to three states that do not mix: live, with the block, date or endpoint behind it; building, proven in the laboratory or on the public testnet and not on mainnet; and end state, where the component is going, not built and not claimed. The page also lists, on the same screen, what the project is not yet.
With the direction comes the code. Aere Quantum, released as open source between September 29 and October 2, is a set of thirteen self-hosted post-quantum components, each a few files with no dependencies beyond Node.js and the OpenSSL it ships with: a TLS 1.3 gateway with the hybrid key exchange X25519MLKEM768 in front of any HTTP service; a transit-style key management service where every key is hybrid, X25519 with ML-KEM-768 for encryption and Ed25519 with ML-DSA-65 for signatures; a private certificate authority for ML-DSA certificates; a cryptographic inventory of source code; a post-quantum readiness scanner for any public hostname; a control plane that turns findings into a finished migration; an audit-log sidecar whose entries are hash-chained proof envelopes; post-quantum credentials with selective disclosure, delegation and revocation; a framework for AI agents with signed permissions and limits they cannot break unseen; Proof of AI, the envelope of an AI result; the trust chain of an AI result, linking identity, model version, runtime, permissions, provenance and an on-chain witness; and a verifiable dataset whose every answer is checkable against a short commitment. Each component’s README states what it is not and what is not measured.
POST /v1/verify, since September 29): verification of post-quantum anchor certificates and of proof envelopes, performed by the published reference verifier, so that any verdict can be reproduced from the same bytes on the caller’s own machine.Everything above runs on, or verifies against, chain 2800, a public EVM Layer 1 that has produced more than 21 million blocks, carries a certificate of post-quantum validator seals under the hash of every 32nd block, names its validators by post-quantum identities since September 30, and accepts natively post-quantum-signed transactions since September 23 (see the release of the same day on the post-quantum validator stack).
The direction is at aere.network/vision, with every live line naming the block, date or endpoint behind it. The source of every Aere Quantum component is at git.aere.network/aere-network/aere-quantum, with its tests and its negative controls; the SDK at aere-cloud-sdk; Proof of Software at aere-proof-of-software; the API documentation at aere.network/cloud-docs.html. The chain itself is verifiable with the public verifier at aere.network/tools, and the machine-checkable claims behind this release are in verifiable-claims.json.
In keeping with the project’s practice of publishing capabilities and limits together: no third party has reviewed any Aere Quantum component, and no completed external security audit of the chain or the contracts exists; all ten validators are operated by the Aere Foundation, so the chain is not yet decentralized; usage of the network and of Aere Cloud is low, and every throughput figure is published as measured, not designed; and the word “universal” belongs to the end state of the direction, not to today. The direction page says all of this in its own words.
Aere Network is cryptographic infrastructure built on a public, EVM-compatible Layer 1 (Chain ID 2800): a settlement layer with half-second finality and a fixed supply of 2.8 billion AERE set at genesis, native post-quantum signature verification, post-quantum validator certificates under the block hash, post-quantum validator identities, native post-quantum transactions, and a verification layer, Aere Cloud, for organisations. Its rule is that nothing is called live until it runs on the real network and a stranger can check it with published tools. Documentation, research and source code: aere.network/papers.html.
